Yes, it's been a while, but I finally have some new items in my etsy shop. I'm still waiting for the big promotion/giveaway that I mentioned here, but I'm hoping to have a few more items available before then.

After a few attempts and even more adaptations, I finally got this backpack figured out. It actually turned out really cute and I'm excited to get a few more done. I'd love to know what you think!

14 1/2 x 16 1/2 inches--big enough to haul lots of stuff

When closed, straps fit comfortably on shoulders.

Large inside pocket (6 x 8 inches) keeps special treasures safe.

Drawstring is secured in antique bronze grommets.

While I love making the usual-size purses, I'm glad I was able to adapt the pattern to make little girl purses. I've made quite a few now, and the ones who've received them have really loved them. Here's the latest one, plus a few fabrics that I have online to be made into girl purses.

Like Mother Like Daughter

Needless to say, with summer coming to a close and school starting, I haven't been too busy with sewing. I guess you have to prioritize with what has to be done immediately; therefore, school took precedence. Now that the year is off to a great start, I had some down time in which to sew. Yesterday I mentioned on facebook and twitter that I had a big contest coming up soon. Well, let me rephrase that. I will be participating in a big contest soon, not holding the contest.

I'm not going to give away the details (well, I really can't give away the details because even I don't know the details yet!), but I'll give you a sneak peek at the latest project I've completed. You'll have to stay tuned for the details. I'll let you know as soon as I know.

It's About Time...

...that I posted something here. I finally have some new items in my online store. Last week my niece Callie was here and she was so excited to help me make some fun photo albums. Burnin' the Midnight Oil

More like the 2:30 a.m. oil. Once I get in "sewing mode," I can't seem to stop. I'm in the process of making 6 purses/totes, and once those are done, I'll be caught up... for now. Next on the agenda? Boy items! I found a cute totally masculine pattern for a drawstring backpack, so I think I'll do a few of them next. Then girl purses, and more big purses with awesome fabric I found in Kansas City.
